Through 3 unique programs Healing the Children New Jersey provides free medical care
and related services to children in New Jersey and around the world.

Medical Teams Abroad

Volunteer medical teams travel abroad to provide pro-bono medical care performing life-changing surgeries for children in need.

International Inbound

Local families host children from around the world while they receive medical treatment not available in their native countries.

Brighter Futures NJ

Specialized equipment, therapeutic care, adapted activities and supplies are provided to children with complex medical diagnoses and developmental disabilities.

It costs HTCNJ on average $10,000 to send a medical team abroad.

The MTA Program can correct strabismus and ptosis for $200 per child.

The MTA Program can perform 12 different types of ENT surgeries for $250 per child.

The MTA Program can do plastic and reconstructive surgeries such as cleft lip, cleft palate, and burn contractures for $250 per child.

The MTA Program can give the gift of improved sight by performing congenial cataract surgery for less than $200 per child.

In 2022, the International Inbound Program in conjunction with Achilles Prosthetics & Orthotics provided bilateral leg prostheses to a long-time participant.

In 2025, the Brighter Futures NJ Program provided assistance to 85 children in New Jersey born with complex medical diagnoses and developmental disabilities.

In 2023, the International Aid Program in conjunction with Pediatricare Associates provided a prosthetic eye to a long-time participant.
