In November 2017 HTCNJ sent a pediatric urology medical mission to Ecuador to help children born with congenital abnormalities. The team which was led by Dr. Steven Friedman and Dr. Ronnie Fine screened sixty children and performed twenty-seven surgeries. “Our trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador was very successful! With the with help of the staff at Dr. Roberto Gilbert Elizalde Children’s Hospital, we were able to perform complicated surgeries that will make a very positive impact on these children’s lives.  There is so much more to do, and we plan to go back there year after year to continue our work,” said Dr. Rich Colavita, the anesthesiologist on the team.
